Shockers_Club's Scoop

Shockers Club – the building has been here since day one – but no, it was not always Shockers -
When I arrived in this crazy world, it was “Retronation” commonly known as “Retro”
Up until VWW, the only clubs were in Red light Centre, or Virtual Vancouver and its suburbs.
Shockers lives just thru the Archway from RLC to VV, on the left, and as with all clubs and businesses, you could land in transport and WALK to the place of your choice, It might be fair to say everybody knew how to get anywhere – except the newbies of course.
There were a handful of Top clubs, and they could be really busy places. An Event was really an event, and fancy dress meant pulling out the greatest and most amazing outfits from your closet, outfits that you may never see any more.
Clubs had teams, managers, promoters, banner designers, and security.
Dims (different language clones of the club), French, Spanish, German etc, were rented out, and families or groups would rent them on monthly basis, at the club of their choice.
There were three or four heavily prized Dims like English AG (Anything goes) and life in the clubs was pretty good.
Drama was high! with Verbal fights and space invasion issues, whilst boot buttons were not freely available, and, if you booted and banned a member, you were obliged to inform them of the fact, and the reason, and the person they could contact regarding the action taken.
Failure to follow the rules could lead to removal of the Boot option.
Clubs could not be 'clicked on' from a menu and “bought” on the spot for a few Rays a month. They had to be applied for and Built by Utherverse to the purchasers specification.
Every wall and walkway; dance floor or bar; ceiling design and any different levels in the building, were built into, and were part of, the permanent structure, and could not be moved or propped out.
These were purpose made buildings. Just look at the ceiling in Shockers next time you are in. See the amount of design work and time taken to make it a work of art that is rarely noticed.
These places were businesses, and in the main the aim was for the club to pay its own way, or make a profit. That involved a lot of time consuming hard work.
So are there any clubs of this sort left, yes. Look around RLC, and then look at VV. These are the real deal. Real clubs for real people, that is what the members were back then. Hell I used to put my good suit on before I logged in.
So, back to Shockers, unarguably a totally unique Club.
Hand on heart I have never heard a single person say they did not like the club. Every one who comments remembers how it was and says they always liked it and they are always happy there. Yes some disliked some of the the people there, and some of the team disliked each other pretty often, but that is what Shockers did, raised the emotional levels, and excited people.

Shockers is still its old home in Virtual Vancouver Street, and you can WALK there - wander along RLC St, in the sunshine, and when you reach the Archway, go thru and there is Shockers, Or take the subway, first right from Transport Centre where you land when you log in. up the steps and walk to your left to the Club. Either way it is fun.
So, that is shockers. A taste of how Clubs can still be in RLC. But not without you the members.
If you are in the club when there is a big event on, you will have a night you should remember for a long time.
Give it a try, come and meet a whole bunch of good people, who will make you welcome whether you are VIP or BASIC, girl or guys, Dad or daughter, old or young, who cares, you are all welcome.
