anything but hollywood cack. stuff like lars von trier's "breaking the waves," anything by pedro almodovar or luc besson or wim wenders, tarkovsky's "solaris," the original "ring" films, in japanese, indie films like "legend of 1900" or "the mighty," absolutely anything by david lynch. just because i'm slutty doesn't make me a thickie.
Books:
just now mainly russian literature... solzhenytsin, dostoevsky, nabakov... and absolutely anything george orwell ever wrote. genius. i do like a little hg wells too, for the fantasy of it all. and absolutely anything by douglas adams.
